Sanskrit is one of the oldest languages of the World and has a rich tradition of poetry and drama as well as Scientific, technical, philosophical and dharmic texts.
It is continuously used as a ceremonial language in Hindu religious rituals in India. It is estimated to be be spoken only by around 50,000 people in India across some villages and few traditional families and institutions.
Many institutions and organisations are involved in the research on Sanskrit and in its promotion. Sanskrit Roots attempts to complement those efforts.
